Well we’re off and running. Got going a little past 11 as we both had business to take care of. First stop was mora for their awesome bakery. Then we Headed up 65 to my old stomping grounds of long lake. I’d bet it’s been 6-7 years since I’ve been there and it more or less looks the same. It felt really familiar to walk around again. It’s an odd combination of a place that I experienced as an adult for a long period of time, but then haven’t seen in a long while. We are some lunch outside, didn’t see a soul, and hit the road again.
Next stop was the lost 40. Actually kind of underwhelming. Big trees, but at the end of the day, I didn’t think there was a significant difference between that and scenic.
Scenic was awesome. The canoe in was only 20 min and was an amazing view. There was a short storm right when we arrived, then nothing but sun the rest of the evening.
A good start to the trip
